After cloud accounts and storage, since those are pre-requisites for this.
Current plan:
  • When a layout is published, it will be assigned a random 8 character identifier
  • Example: https://app.bricklayouts.com/I3ctFcSI
  • When accessed through the published URL, the layout will be in read-only mode unless you are logged in as the owner of the layout.
  • Public read-only viewers will not see live editing
Future enhancements (not part of the work to complete this request)
  • A gallery for browsing public layouts
  • Social sharing
After this is completed, ask the users for feedback:
  • If they would like to be able to specify the exact URL the layout is published at, and if it would be ok if that then contained their username publicly
