  • Undo System
    - Accidentally changed something you didn't mean to? Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on a Mac). For the moment you can only undo the previous 3 actions. We will evaluate how increasing this affects performance on different devices.
  • More structures
    - Added many of the official LEGO® modular buildings
modulars
  • Customize the baseplate under a structure - Structures of official sets will, by default, add to your layout with the baseplate under it being the color that originally came with the set. After you add it to the layout, you can edit the color of the baseplate, or even remove it all together.

  • Crops
    - Building a farm? Now you can quickly fill in space where a crop would be by picking a type of crop and how large of a space you want to be filled in.

  • Share layouts publicly
    (
    Pro Subscription Only
) - Pro Subscribers can set their layouts to be publicly viewable. When anyone visits the public URL of your layout they will be able to view it, look at the inventory, and download an image of the layout. They will not be able to edit it, but they will see the latest changes you have made without needing a new URL.

  • More table sizes
    - Added more tables based on feedback from Brickworld
  • More 3rd party track parts
    - We are always adding more, but recently we hired an artist to produce the images for parts so we can move a bit faster. 11 new parts were added in the past 4 weeks.
  • Random Forests
    - Quickly generate a forest of random trees covering any size area you designate.

  • Flip Structures Horizontally
    - Flip a structure (like a modular building) horizontally to represent building it "backwards". This can also just add some visual variety to your layout.

🐞 Squashed bugs
  • In very specific situations, when you added something to the layout (or duplicated something) it would be positioned really far away and off of your screen. This won't happen anymore.
  • When a group of components was duplicated, the z-order of the components was reversed. Whoops.
  • Selecting things that were already selected, sometimes, did the opposite and selected everything except for the originally selected things. So strange..
  • Parts (especially custom Shapes/Baseplates) that were an odd number of studs in either width or height, would not snap to the grid properly.
✏️ Improved
  • Image loading optimizations
    - As BrickLayouts has more things added to it, we want to keep the load time as quick as possible. BrickLayouts will now load the bare minimum of images needed to start running, and then load the rest of the them in the background. This also means that if you open a read-only layout that only the data needed to render that layout will be downloaded to your device and nothing else. All of this means you can start designing faster, even on a slower internet connection.
  • Optimized some images
    - The images for table components were larger than they needed to be. The way we were generating these images was creating very inefficient file data. This has been resolved, but there may be a few more older images that need to be optimized.
  • Redesigned the Configuration menu
    - Made it less confusing to new users, and a bit of a cleaner interface.
