Large Radius Curved using offset straight track

Need to research this to find some clubs actually doing this and what method of building the large radius curve they are using, so we can model that same radius/build. There may be multiple methods/radiuses in use by the community

Justin Rupp PennLug has several as well as Texas Brick Railroad. They arent used much any more but they are typically made by offsetting the connection on one side of the joint. you can get up to about 1/2 stud or a 4mm gap between each.

When I lived in Austin, TBRR built the first ever, AFAIK, complete circle of track using this system. I've still got the ballasted straight segments. If I can supply any info on this, let me know. It takes a LOT of space.

Steve Jackson: What angle are the 2 straights connected at? This is basically the one thing I need to know to implement this.

Justin Rupp 480 pieces of track make a circle with circumference 200 feet and diameter 63.7 feet. I have a video of a train running on that Texas Loop . . . So the pieces are connected at angles of .75 degrees. Experience suggests that that could be a bit tighter, but .75 is stable.
