created a seperate ticket, but maybe add here too. Someone suggested translucent layering. Pasting comment here too: maybe you could look into translucent layering? Solves the need for working out the import malarkey and you could then use model railroad plans too

Feedback from BrickWorld Chicago- This needs to be prioritized even if there might be holes in layouts due to missing track

So this turned out to be fairly easy to implement, but it would just ignore anything in the imported file that doesn't have an equivalent in BrickLayouts. So I'm going to wait until January to launch this, and work to get more parts added to BrickLayouts in January too.

Yes please I have a huge library of bluebrick files which can easily be read as they are just fancy xml.
