The ".json" file extension is understandable to those in the programing world but to the regular consumer it will be confusing.

I suggest a ".blp" extension which stands for BrickLayoutPlan instead. its clear about what it is and a quick google search shows that its used for WoW mods but that shouldnt cause issues because the context for each use case is so wildly different.
